Roll up your sleeves, grab a shovel, and help us grow a greener, more equitable and climate resilient Los Angeles! Public Works Commissioner Aura Garcia and Teresa Villegas, Councilmember Gil Cedillo, Council District 1, Councilmember Mitch O'Farrell, and Council District 13 invite you to a community celebration and tree planting event in Los Angeles.
Join us for a day of climate and community action as we plant 49 trees in celebration of Latino Heritage Month. Please wear close-toed shoes, sunscreen, and bring a reusable water bottle and gloves.
8:00 am — Volunteer Check-In
8:30 am — Event Kick-off & Speaking Ceremony
9:00 am — Tree Planting

City Plants will host a FREE fruit and shade tree adoption at this event. Trees will be available for City of LA residents to plant on private property. Proof of residence within the City of LA is required to take a tree home for planting. For City Plants adoption rules, please visit our website. Trees are 3 - 6 feet tall, come in a 5-gallon container, and must be planted in the ground.
